Thursday, June 17, 2021 - The Executive Board of the Poway Rodeo sadly announces the cancellation of the 2021 Poway Rodeo scheduled for September 24 and 25.
Although the Rodeo Committee was optimistic about bringing back the event in 2021, it has become evident as September approaches that the pandemic has negatively impacted vendors and sponsors upon whom the Poway Rodeo depends for its success.
As a result, as in 2020, the financial security of the Rodeo cannot be confirmed in time to offer the event to the community in 2021. It remains the right choice to look ahead to 2022 and make the Poway Rodeo better than ever.
“We are so disappointed that the Rodeo will not take place again this year,” says Joe Stupar, chair of the Poway Rodeo Committee. “We have not made this decision lightly. “Several factors have contributed to this decision, but our primary goal — to provide rodeo participants and fans a community event we are proud to produce and attend — remains firm.”
“We look forward to welcoming Poway Rodeo fans back in September 2022,” added Stupar.
Rodeo fans are encouraged to watch for announcements from the Committee of some new events designed to bring the San Diego County community together around wholesome, family-oriented fun.
