Local kids have an opportunity at real rodeo action by riding a mutton (sheep) during each of the performances of the Poway Rodeo. Each child will receive a participation buckle and the winner will receive a gift card from Justin for a pair of Justin boots!

2025 Mutton Busters are Full

Mutton Busting Rules and Regulations

  • 12 riders are allotted for each of the three performances, Friday, September 26 at 7:30 pm, and Saturday, September 27 at 1:00 and 7:30 pm.
  • All riders must wear jeans, boots, and long-sleeve shirts (PRCA Arena Requirements) and wear an approved riding helmet. Justin will be providing vests and helmets.
  • Must weigh 50 pounds or less on the date of ride and be at least four years of age.
  • Walk-through will be at 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 25, at the rodeo grounds (Poway Valley Riders Association, 14336 Tierra Bonita Rd., Poway).
