SAM’S POSSE ROUND-UP RODEO is a free event open to individuals with intellectual
and physical disabilities, age 5 and up. It will take place at the Poway Rodeo arena on
Saturday September 24th at 10 am. To participate you must pre-register by going to
www.samsposse.org, and click on the Events tab.
This event is an opportunity for participants to experience the sport of rodeo by using
specially designed activities for individuals of all abilities. Activities will include…Stick
pony barrel racing and pole bending, “Not so rough stock” riding, (rocking horses and
bulls), roping, horse drawn wagon rides and so much more!!! Participants will interact
with Rodeo Royalty, therapy horses, and professional Rodeo Cowboys and Cowgirls.
We make every effort to include ALL participants regardless of their limitations.
Participants will have a buddies to help them navigate through the event at their pace.
Everyone will receive a T-Shirt, hat, souvenirs and 4 tickets for the 1pm afternoon
performance of Saturday’s PRCA Rodeo. Additional rodeo tickets may be purchased at
a special rate.
