2020 Poway Rodeo Queen's Pageant Application
I understand that if I win the title of the 2020 Poway Rodeo Queen, 2020 Poway Rodeo Jr. Queen, 2020 Poway Rodeo Young Miss, or 2020 Poway Rodeo Little Princess it is my responsibility to be Poway Rodeo’s representative and I am obligated to present the sport of rodeo in its true light to the general public. I will strive to exhibit excelled sportsmanship, high moral and ethical character and humane treatment to animals.
I will, at all times, strive to abide by the rules of the Poway Rodeo Queen Pageant, which are adapted from the Miss Rodeo America rules and regulations.
I understand that the Poway Rodeo Queen Pageant is not a beauty pageant. Rather, it is a competition which recognizes a number of attributes; horsemanship, personality, public speaking and interview skill. Therefore, it is my responsibility, as Poway’s representative, to act, speak and dress accordingly, upholding the ideals my title deserves anytime that I am in the public eye or acting in the capacity of Poway Rodeo Queen, Jr. Queen, Young Miss, or Little Princess.
If I am chosen Poway Rodeo Queen, Poway Rodeo Jr. Queen, Poway Rodeo Young Miss, or Poway Rodeo Little Princess I will:
I agree that during my reign, I shall observe a high standard of moral and ethical behavior befitting of my title and will strive to set a good example to the public, to future competitors and to the Poway Rodeo. I understand and agree that all perpetual items (crown, chaps, saddles, garment bag, etc.), loaned equipment, clothes, etc. that are the property of the Poway Rodeo Committee or others are my responsibility to maintain them, replace or repair them if they are damaged, lost or stolen, and return them to the owners upon request. I understand that all awards received during the Pageant are the property of the Poway Rodeo Committee and will not officially be mine until my reign has been successfully completed.
This policy provides guidance for Rodeo Queen/Contestants and their use of social media which will include blogs, wikis, micro blogs, message boards, chat rooms, electronic newsletters, online forums, social networking sites and other sites including but not limited to snap chat and other services that permit users to share information with others in a coexisting manner.
The following principles apply to use of social media on behalf of Poway Rodeo and Poway Rodeo Queen/Contestants as well as personal use of social media when referencing Poway Rodeo.
The Poway Rodeo Queen, the Poway Rodeo Junior Queen, Poway Rodeo Young Miss, and the Poway Rodeo Little Princess are young ladies who desire to represent the Community of Poway and the sport of professional rodeo. These ladies can be described as “All-American Girls” who embody the strong morals and the values of the western way of life. The Poway Rodeo Queen, the Poway Rodeo Junior Queen, Poway Rodeo Young Miss, and the Poway Rodeo Little Princess will be talented, personable horsewomen with a vast knowledge of the sport of rodeo.
QUALITIES OF A POWAY RODEO QUEEN PAGEANT CONTESTANT:
THIS AGREEMENT is made between the Poway Rodeo Queen Pageant Committee, Pro Rodeo Productions of Poway, Inc., (PRPP), Poway Valley Riders Association, (PVRA), Poway Rodeo Volunteers, (PRV), hereinafter referred to as “Pageant” and , who resides in the City of , hereinafter referred to as “Contestant”.
W I T N E S E T H:
WHEREAS, Pageant conducts the Poway Rodeo Queen, Poway Rodeo Jr. Queen, Poway Rodeo Young Miss, and Poway Rodeo Little Princess Pageant (hereinafter referred to as “Contest”), including the creation, publication and administration of all rules and regulations relating thereto, and
WHEREAS, Contestant desires to compete in the Contest. NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises set forth herein, the mutual benefits derived here from and other good and valuable consideration provided each unto the other, the receipt and sufficiency of which is acknowledged, it is agreed:
a. Inform Pageant of the alleged and/or perceived violation at the earliest and most proximate time to the instance, but in no event, not to be less than two hours before the scheduled naming of the contest winner(s); and
b. In no way act to withhold information from Pageant and/or from other third party contestant(s), as to deprive Pageant of the opportunity to determine alleged violations.
In this regard, the Contest Director is hereby designated as the person to receive any and all alleged and/or perceived rule violation(s).
