2020 Queens Pageant

Calling all Cowgirls!  Would you like to represent Poway by promoting the Professional Sport of Rodeo and the western lifestyle?  If so, grab your boots and cowboy hat and meet us at Tierra Bonita Elementary School at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday Feb. 20th,  for orientation.

Pro Rodeo Productions of Poway will begin their campaign to select a new Rodeo Queen, a Junior Queen, Young Miss and a Little Princess. Practices are scheduled to be weekly on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Midland Elementary. Horsemanship practices will be held on Sunday at the Poway Valley Riders Association, PVRA, 14336 Tierra Bonita Rd. Contestants must be able to ride well and furnish their own horse. Calendars with a schedule of meeting locations and dates will be available at orientation.

Young ladies who are interested in representing their community, the sport of rodeo, and horsemanship, are invited to compete in the following categories:

Poway Rodeo Little Princess:  Must be 5 to 9 years old at the time of the Pageant.  Must live within San Diego or Riverside County. The Little Princess will speak to patrons about the sport of rodeo and participate in other functions and parades.

Poway Rodeo Young Miss:  Must be 10 to 12 years old at the time of the Pageant.  Must live within San Diego or Riverside County.  Must be able to ride a horse in a horsemanship pattern and perform a Queen’s Run.  The Young Miss may not necessarily ride a horse in the rodeo. The Young Miss may ride and participate in many other functions and parades.

Poway Rodeo Junior Queen:  Must be 13 to 16 years of age at the time of the Pageant.  Must live within San Diego or Riverside County.  Must be able to ride in a horsemanship pattern including a Queen’s Run and carry flags on horseback.  The Junior Queen will ride in the Poway Rodeo and many other rodeos.  The Junior Queen will ride and participate in many other functions and parades.

Poway Rodeo Queen (Senior): Must be 17 to 25 years of age at the time of the Pageant.  Must live within San Diego or Riverside County.  Must be able to ride in a horsemanship pattern including a Queen’s Run and carry flags on horseback.  The Queen will ride and participate in many other functions and parades.

This year’s Poway Rodeo Queens Pageant will take place on Saturday May 9th at Midland Elementary School.
