Mutton Busting:

  • There is a $25.00 entry fee for all Mutton Busters. (Checks may be made to Poway Rodeo or PRPP.) Entry fee is nonrefundable.
  • All riders must be in approved arena attire (long sleeves, jeans, boots) and must wear a riding helmet or bicycle helmet. (These are PRCA arena requirements.)
  • One parent will be permitted to stay with the rider behind the chutes. No parents will be allowed in the arena.
  • There will only be ten (10) riders per rodeo performance (30 total). Conflicts will be resolved by Arena Manager, if necessary.
  • All riders must weigh 50 pounds or less on date of ride and at be at least four years of age.
  • A rehearsal will be held at 6:00 PM (sharp) on Thursday, September 21, 2018 at the rodeo grounds (Poway Valley Riders Association, 14336 Tierra Bonita Rd. in Poway). We will be explaining the entire process and requirements. At least one parent and the child must attend. Non attendance at this meeting may void riding date. Weigh-in of all riders will be done at this time, and riders will see the sheep and chutes. Questions: [email protected].

Filling out the application form on the Poway Rodeo website will only hold the rider's spot until ALL other documents and payment are submitted BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1, 2018.  Please submit all documents at the same time.

IMPORTANT!

Print the online application after filling it out (before you click "Submit")! This application MUST be signed by a parent or legal guardian and submitted VIA MAIL along with the signed Minor Release Form, proof of insurance, and full payment of the entry fee.

After the rider's application has been approved, the rider will receive TWO (2) rodeo tickets (one for the rider AND one for a parent/guardian/guest).


Junior Barrel Racing:

  • There is a $35.00 entry fee for all Jr. Barrel Racers. (Checks may be made to Poway Rodeo or PRPP.) Entry fee is nonrefundable.
  • There will only be eight (8) riders per rodeo performance (24 total). Conflicts will be resolved by Arena Manager, if necessary. If more than 24 junior barrel racers apply, then slack on Friday morning may be an option.
  • All riders MUST wear jeans, boots and long-sleeve shirts (PRCA arena requirements) AND an approved riding helmet.
  • No lead-line leading of riders will be permitted.
  • Riders MUST be ages 4 through 17 on date of ride. Age verification may be requested.
